Main thought: Life
is a wonderful gift and miracle of God.
I) THE LORD GOD FORMED US
“And the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground…”
The Sovereign God, the Creator of the Universe, God
Almighty, took the time to come down from heaven and stood on this earth.
God formed us, He made us, He fashioned us, He created us.
Romans 1:18-21 “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be know about God is plain to them, because has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
Why is God angry, why does His wrath come against people who are godless, who have no room in their lives for God, and then are wicked?
Why does His wrath and anger come to those who suppress the truth and refuse to believe in God?
Why are people without excuse?
Because He is God! He is Creator!
David states that “I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm139:14
“And the Lord God breathed into his nostrils, and man became a living being.”
The Divine Artist did something that no one else has the power to do: give life.
If He had changed His mind and stopped, there would be no person made in His image.
And yet with all God knew, He still breathed into man and gave us life!
As God breathes into the dirt, the miracle of life happens in that first person, Adam.
Living> he is alive, able to sustain life.
With the miracle of God’s breath, we are to view life as precious and valuable.
Being>a breathing creature, respiration, a life soul, spirit, mind, a living being, a person.
And each breath we take should remind us that the first one, that gave us life, came from God!
(Put the picture of the plug here.)
God wants us to be connected to His transforming power, so that we are radically changed to be what He intended as He created Adam.
We exist for God!
How can we allow people to treat life as nothing more than a piece of garbage, disposable?
The child developing in the womb is a miracle.
As the Church of
Jesus Christ, what are thanking God for both physical and spiritual life?
Do we treat the life
of the unborn like garbage by minding our own business?
Are we truly a lighthouse of hope and love?
